Shira has worked in a wide variety of clinical settings. For 18 years she worked in public and private schools doing therapy with non-classified and Special Ed Classified Middle and High school students. These students presented with social, emotional and academic struggles.
Shira has also worked for many years in medical settings with chronically ill people, most of whom have been middle aged to elderly. In addition, she has worked in several outpatient settings with people from all walks of life, ranging in age from 4 to 92, presenting with a vast array of personal and family concerns.
She looks forward to supporting each person in their unique search for resolution of difficult struggles and search for inner peace. Her goal is to help others to enhance their self esteem, enhance resilience, learn to believe in themselves, and find their passions, strengths and gifts no matter what age people are. Shira believes a solid therapeutic relationship and respect for people's differences help to build a foundation to work together. Her work is largely relational and psychodynamic, but also focusing on problem solving and working with people's perceptions. She looks forward to being a partner in personal growth.
